"Hard Work Is Key To Success"

I have always loved working outside and admire the aesthetics- beauty of what one can do to the grass. Whether it's playing sports such as basketball/softball, a bike ride, or even mowing our lawn, being outdoors is a relief of stress for me especially when its comes to the detail of sport fields. Wanting to be a groundskeeper has always been an interest to me since going to my dad's softball games when I was young. I used a rake to smooth the infield dirt around making it nice for the players.

I currently work with the Beaver Stadium Grounds Crew, and Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State and do take pride in my work ethic and detail of the fields. I live by the motto "hard work is key to success" because if you want to succeed in your life or achieve your goals, you have to work hard to earn it. I have learned through working at Beaver Stadium and Bryce Jordan that your hard work and teamwork with your employees is essential to get the job done! My willingness to learn and achieve new opportunities has helped me to become more experienced and qualified to be a groundskeeper when I graduate, eventually working my way up to be a Turf Manager.

My name is Seth Burchill. I am currently a Junior at The Pennsylvania State University seeking a Bachelor Degree in Turfgrass Management. I will graduate in May of 2018.
